9. Wei Wei - My God shall supply all my needs (Phil 4:19)

Name: Wei Wei
Date: Oct 2006
Location: Melbourne, Australia
Note: Wei Wei is a personal friend of Joshua and she is on Daily Rhema

I started praying daily Ephesians 1: 17-19 from 1 Oct 06. I resigned from my job at company A on 13 Oct 06 (a job which the Lord has miraculously provided) - the circumstances under which I resigned were not pleasant at all. 2 weeks were spent preparing for my CPA exam. After the exam, I started looking for a job again. During this time, Romans 12:2 was my guide - "And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God'. I learnt that my mind is a muscle which needed to be exercised daily, to focus on the promises of God. What started off as just a desire to catch up with my bible reading (just so that I can complete the NT in 1 year and feel good about my accomplishment) has increased my desire to search more of God's promises for me.

One non-believer friend told me to lie in my CV and not include company A in it. I knew everyone in the company was pointing their fingers at me. The Holy Spirit reminded me in Isaiah 54:17 "No weapon formed against you shall prosper, and every tongue which rises against you in judgment, you shall condemn". I took the risk and didn't lie in my CV. God is my refuge and my strength - I will hide under His wings until all the calamities have passed away.
This was not an easy time for us because my husband Stewart was only working 4 hours a week as a chef - he couldn't seem to get a job as a chef. But still, this was also the period that we had the best meals at home and we drove to the beach a lot (for Stewart's photography and for my intake of fresh air) - surely He satisfies our mouths with good things so that our youth is renewed like the eagle's (Psalm 103:5)

Many times, the doubt started creeping in and I wondered what happened under the circumstances that caused me to resign. I felt the situation was out of my control. Yet, it was also the period that I faithfully prayed for the spirit of wisdom and revelation to be upon Stewart and I. Florence (Joshua’s wife) encouraged me to continue my daily prayer of Ephesians 1:17-19 and confessing that Jesus is my wisdom and I have the mind of Christ. It was a battle for me, but God is faithful. My desperate prayer for a job has turned into praying for God's will to be done in my life.

22 Nov 06 (Tue) - I went for an interview with recruitment consultant A. I applied for the position of a Property Accountant. She emphasized to me that the employer is very strict about the candidate's skills. She did a major overhaul on my CV. On the train ride home, the Holy Spirit reminded me of the song 'surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life'. In the afternoon, I was told that the employer wanted someone with experience. Yes, I was disappointed but Stewart reminded me that God has already provided. We gave thanks for the job that was coming.

23 Nov 06 (Wed) - I woke up with the same song in my heart. I got a call from another recruitment consultant for a position at the same company. I told them what had happened. But, apparently, this was a temporary position. They liked me and wanted to recommend me to the company. Didn't hear from the recruitment consultant - no news is bad news ;) Still, we gave thanks for the job that was coming.

24 Nov 06 (Thu) - I woke up with this song in my heart, “Nothing, nothing, absolutely nothing, nothing is too difficult for Thee". The consultant called me and told me that the employer was reviewing my CV. The Holy Spirit reminded me of Proverbs 21:1 "The king's heart is in the hand of the Lord, like the rivers of water He turns is wherever He wishes"
It was a comfort to know that whatever the outcome, God is in charge. Received a call in the afternoon - I got the temporary position (till January) at a rate that I never dreamt of. PRAISE THE LORD!!!! What happens after Jan 07? I will be continuing in my walk of faith and give another testimony of my miracle working God.
