32. Mr. FM Lye - A successful eye operation & healing from subsequent pressure in the blood vessels

My father had been suffering from a cataract condition in his left eye for some years now. We have been praying for the condition and felt the peace that he should go for an operation. In Feb 07, my dad went for a the surgery to remove the cataract, as well as some membrane behing his eye. While he was in the operating theatre, we prayed and believed that God would guide the hands of the doctor for a successful operation, and the best outcome. When we didn't know what to pray, we just simply prayed in the spirit. The Holy Spirit helped us to pray for the situation.

We thank God that the operation went smoothly. During the subsequent checkup, his eyesight was 6/9. The doctor said it was considered a very successful operation. After putting on spectacles, his vision became 6/6. He could now read what he couldn't read previously.

Recently, my dad complained that he felt a lot of pressure in his left eye. When we checked, his whole left eye was read. We were alarmed wondering if the pressure could result in bursting of blood vessels, etc.

I was initially troubled. But I felt the Holy Spirit say that this was a test of faith. If my parents responded by faith, they would receive their miracle, and come out with stronger faith to face future problems. If they responded without faith, they would come out worse.

I took the opportunity to teach my parents about the important of meditation of God's healing promises, and the importance of using their tongue to confess their healing. Over the years, they have been used to speaking negatively. I told them that life and death are in the power of the tongue. I prayed over my day, and made them confess God's promises after me. This was on a Sunday.

By Sunday evening, the redness had subsided. I told them to go for a checkup anyway just to have the doctor certify that everything is okay. On Monday, the doctor was not on duty. So they had top wait till Tuesday. It was natural for them to feel a great sense of anxiety, but I reminded them to pray and to confess his healing.

On Tuesday, they went to a the doctor. The doctor checked the blood pressure in the left eye and found that it was even lower than the right eye. The readings were normal. He said that there was nothing wrong - at most an eye infection.

My father was puzzled because he felt the pressure 2 days ago. I told him that it he had received healing through prayer. The doctor's observation was a confirmation that he had been healed. There was no need to be puzzled - only give thanks to Jesus.
